Mera Bharat MyHorn..!!

Just when you thought i disappeared from the face of the most populous city of the second most populous country of the most populated planet... here i am.. back to college after a 2 month ' weight loss ' program called summer internship! ( 4hrs of traveling in the sweltering heat and you d agree with me) Being one of the lucky ones to have been to 5 of the 6 metros (Somehow never got a chance to go to BANDHladesh ... Kolkata for the uninitiated) i thought it would be fun to compare the road manners across the ones ive have lived in sufficiently and have had the privilege to experience : Hyderabad, Bengalooru and Mumbai . Congestion on roads is a common thread that connects all these cities.. but all the misery is to end soon .. what with the Bengalooru,Hyderabad and Mumbai metros coming up within no time.. just another 11-13 yrs ! But you never know.. the mumbai metro with a super charged Anil Ambani could be completed a few days before schedule and may be we can have ...

Pirates of ViharLake : Curse of the black pulse

disclaimer : The views expressed in the tirade below are mine, mine and only mine.No committee or commuNitie endorses it .No offense intended to people connected to the facility.. But pun , definitely intended.. A serene location in west India , where a cook from karnataka prepares panneer for a hungry Andhraite ... globalisation ?? no that's recipe for disaster !! btw welcome to the place i eat or in local lingo Wat is called a ' mess '.Whoever coined that term, saw a pun in it.. at least earlier than i did! Gentleladies and gentleman, fasten your seat belts.. cos the ride is going to be MESS y I keep wondering if our mess is the world's most ' Aloo ' friendly mess.. Mr.Sharad Pawar can back me up on this.. its always 'aloo this' or ' aloo that', and if its not the case, then it is 'that with aloo' or 'this with aloo '. If ever there's a rise in potato prices due to shortage , then hopefully we will get to taste ...

Chase is the index of the mind..!

Resolutions on new year are such a cliche .. talking of cliches one thing that is clichefied to the extent that new born babies can predict what will happen next are the chases in our movies... long live the ramp and the flower cart. (details later) The usual prerequisites for a cliched chase are an old jeep/bike, couple of crowded streets,a know it all hero ( who needs GPS? ), and a bunch of goons with ultra low IQ levels.. seriously i always think of all the goons in all the movies worldwide and i wonder why our desi goons have the lowest IQ levels, but they are the people who make the rajnis, mithuns and balakrishnas of our world look good.! The following is the 8 marks answer for salient features of Indian chases : (exam hangover i guess) * A bunch of goons will never be able to catch the heroine.. even if she is wearing 3 inch pointed heels and running in a desert.. and the chase ends in she bumping into the hero.. who btw has no work in life at that precise moment. * When th...

A f f i N I T I E ...!

4 3 distinguished years.. 3 serene lakes (still don't know which is the third one ).. 3 months spent here.. 3 tough papers in the module exams.. and 3 seconds before i end this worthless paragraph.. :O Its been almost 100 days since I've come to this place and as some of you might be wondering why i haven't written what i do or have been doing all these days.. things really have moved at the pace of a 20-20 match and had my first sor e finger in years cos of 1 week of physical torture called module exams.. :( The invigilator kept offering me additionals ... but then everyone who wears spects and looks studious does not take 2 additionals :D Apart from watching a zillion episodes of many series... i also tried my hand at playing football .. and playing in the rain was always a sure shot happening :) but as the ground was not maintained (thankfully it is now) there was waist high grass and for onlookers it looked like we were a herd of wild buffaloes migrating ac...

Love the games.. : Memoirs of a chaddi wala

disclaimer : wear your thinking shorts on ;) when was the last time you invented a game..? oops or atleast played a game? there was a time when i played non stop from 4pm to 8-9 pm every evening and most of the games where tailored to our fancies. It was like... wearing a chaddi gave u a licence to create and alter the rules. so, long long ago.. when i used to wear shorts day in and day out... there were a few games that i indulged in and let me try and remember some of those games and their rules.. wait a minute .. what rules? :) game1: Chor police The 'police' never catch the ' chor ' and the game always ends with one of the parents looking for their kid and finding him before the police does. Moral: u can never fool mom. game2: 'i spy ' or hide'n'seek commonly called ispice , eyespyce or whatever.. fastest way to count to 100.. learn from the guy who has to find everyone.people hide in the lamest of places.. seriously what was i thinking while...

PJ Mallya - King of Bad Times .. :D

The following is a collection of my PJs posted on a forum called pagalguy.com. Some of them might make u want to pull your hair out.. but cut me some slack, all of them are originals.. :) ! Starters: 1.) between 'dawn' and 'dusk' which is more authoritative..? Ans.) dawn... because he intimidates dusk by saying.. " main hoon dawn.! " 2.) Why dont most ppl wake up early.. i.e when the day dawns.. or sun rises.. but instead get up when the sun is already shining bright..?? Ans.) because they realised.. " dawn ko pakadna mushkil hi nahin.. naa mumkin hain.." 3.) What would be Karan johar's next movie's name if it were to star Salman Khan,Sanjay dutt and hrithik..?? Ans.) "Kabhi kushi.. Kabhi Gym " 4.) if Quentin tarantino decides to make a mushy bollywood romantic movie.. what will he name it..? Ans.) Kill Bill Pyar Vyar... 5.) If Ram gopal verma or Manirathnam decide to remake one of Steven Spielberg's classics with m...

yes scape velocity..!

my palms are sweating, the heart beat is around 100 bpm, my vision is getting blurred, i fail to pick up sounds in the vicinity and my mind is becoming numb... no i am not having a heart attack, i am actually at the helm of my hyundai santro, driving in Hyderabad and believe me, it ain't lesser than a heart attack .! If you are planning to learn driving in nawab land now, then u can kiss your driving dreams good bye, especially if you are the kind who has not driven anything apart from a scooty in your by lanes while occasionally hitting the milkman and the street dog with ur 25 kmph speed. Driving here has become anything but easy or enjoyable and at the end of the day, i derive pleasure from the fact that there has not been a single scratch/dent on my car. But unfortunately few months back, after an impeccable record of 98 days without any scratches on my car, a tractor guy decided it was enough and took out the rear bumper of my car.. and yeah he was a Rajnikant fan i guess... ...

i blink.. therefore i am..!

i blink .. therefore i am.., but there are moments when you stop blinking and just savor the spectacle in front of you. The following is a travelogue on some of those awesome places that i have seen,felt,experienced.. and not blinked! hope to add to this list in the near future... here we go , the 10 wonders :) 1.) The Taj Mahal I had been to one of the wonders of the world, the feeling took a long time to sink :). There is an eerie calmness around the tajmahal, inspite of the huge flocking of visitors.A stunning beauty in marble and i realized its difficult to blink on the banks of yamuna..! 2.) Doddabetta, Ooty Ever had the feeling of walking amongst the clouds.? welcome to doddabetta,Ooty.! on a foggy evening, you will find trouble in tracing your friend who is walking 2 paces ahead of you :). You have to wait for the cloud to pass and then you can find your way again. Best place for ppl who want to get rid of their belongings :D [ read as wives ;) ] 3.) Mt.wellington, Hobart Thousa...

The 'COLOUR' of my love

this one is from my archives, one of the 1st articles i wrote.. about 4 years back i guess i was obsessed with the bizzare then! :) read on... The following is a unique usage of COLOURS. the passage contains about 25 colours substituted in place of words... try to correlate each colour to a word sounding similar and you will understand it better. if you are still not able to figure it out , the original words follow the passage in the same order.Just put them in and read it out. ALL THE CHARACTERS IN THE FOLLOWING FEATURE ARE FICTIOUS AND BEAR NO RESEMBLENCE TO ANY PERSON.. LIVING OR DEAD. THE " COLOUR " OF MY LOVE Am i REDy fo this???? is this the end to my long WHITE?? someone has started appearing in my CREAMES and i am GREEN to know... who is this ? who just BLUE me away!!!! something is GOLDing me back and i have a PINKing feeling in my heart.. who is she??? am i a CYAN of her? why does it feel like she is saying YELLOW to me all the time.....

A day down under...

its 8.30 Am.. and i am still feeling lazy to get outta bed.. actually its not a bed..its a mattress on the floor.. its actually 2 mattresses.. where am i heading.? ok.. now that the first few words have been useless.. its time to know what i will be writing this time.. a Typical day in melbourne..:) As i stay in a suburb far far away in a galaxy.... i have to catch a train to go to work.. my workplace is in the city. This terminology might be misleading.. cos in India..every part of the city is city but here.. only a set of streets is city and it is surrounded by suburbs... btw all the streets look the same in the city and sound the same too..there is kings way, kings street, kings road, queens street, queens road... huh so much for royalty... and to make matters worst every suburb has its own kings street, kings road, queens street.what unimaginative ppl.. they just dont understand how good a Punjagutta or Tolichowki sounds! so i take a 10 minute walk to the station and validate my 'Met...

The Quintessential Hyderabadi

"arre bhai.. kaiko uske peeche jaare tum... tumko is galli me jao bola na main.. samajh mein nahi aaya kya... kahan kahan se aate re bhai yeh autowalleh...!!"this sentence will cause severe brain haemorrage if you are a connoisseur of pure hindi ... or the north india kinda hindi.. but it its pretty normal to the hyderabadi..! it is the only place on the planet where work has a plural form.. kya saab hame aur bhi kaama hein.. kitna dete hum ko..? (kaama is supposed to be the plural of kaam) welcome to hyderabad.. where hindi is spoken like u've never heard before, with a mix of urdu and a pinch of telugu. It is the land of Pan grafitti and the self assumed king of the roads.. the auto wallahs.. Even though lucknow, ahmedabad and hyderabad have a similarity in the kind of hindu muslim community ratio.. it is the language of the hyderabadi that makes him unique and by far the most entertaining.. :) When you here this lingo for the first time , it 'll seem wierd.. but on...

My Journey to OZ Land - Part Trois

MH 199 KUL - MEL got into a bigger flight this time as it was a 7.5 hrs journey. It was a boeing 777 thistime , but the seating looked similar to the 737 one. But this one had a TV set behind each seat.. so i could watch what i could. Just finished watching "Rebound".. Martin Lawrence starrer.. a comedy one.. nice timepass.. Had a heavy lunch... it was a hindu meal.. and it had non-veg again. There was curd, gulab jamun, fruit salad,pepsi,icecream... huh. finished them all.. and feeling pretty heavy. There is somelady sitting beside me... wish it would be someone else.. i mean someone whom i can talk to but again.. there is this feeling that if i start cracking my jokes, then.. ok lets not get started on that. There are some hindi movies also to be watched.. eg: Kya kool hain hum.. the super hitmovie.. if i am unable to sleep,, then i will watch it.just another 4 hrs left before i touch down in melbourne city.My cousin would be waitin for me.. this is similar to a volvo bus journ...

My journey to OZ land - Part Deux

MH 199 HYD-KUL my first brush with an international flight... and i was greeted by airhostess's dressed in greeeeeeeeen.... all of them.. even the interiors of the malaysian airlinesflight were predominantly green.. making me wonder, am i travelling to Indonesia or malaysia... (those of u who dint get that one.. indonesia has the world's largest muslim populationso... green is the color of that nation,, ) anyways.. moving on.. i first went through the business class.. man they have some luxuries..but i was shown seats at the back of the aircraft.. as mine was economy class. There were7 seats in each row.. and as expected, the window seat was mine.. 3/4th of the flightwas empty.., so i slept on 4 seats fully stretching myself.. thank god.. else it would have been similar to a painful Volvo bus journey.. just the difference being.. we are spared of the bumps.. (had a few though on the Hyd runway!!) and somewhat better looking ppl to take care of you. they started serving all kin...

My journey to OZ land - Part Une

i am sitting in the security lobby of the airport here.. and narrating my experience of my flight journey abroad... :) got a laptop.. so i can type as things happen.. but i thought my company gave me a laptop for different reasons.. !! my hand baggage was no where near the stipulated 8Kgs.. and my shoulders are swooning.. the total luggage itself crossed the limit.. but the guy at malaysian air.. knew mom..so things were cool... and here i am, carrying more than what im supposed to.. there are nothing but clothes in my luggage... and yeah.. the usual pickles.. that grandmom made with lotta love and chilli powder...!!there was the usual gathering of guests at the house making it almost impossible to have some time for myself.. it was a nice feeling to stand on the other side of the huge barricade in the Hyd airport..atlast after seeing off 6732 people.. i get to go out of india.. and ppl have come to see me off.. :) :) well.. i know.. i kinda exaggerate a bit.. !! just saw the Lufthansa...

The Nickname repeller..

nickname... do you u have one..?? you are pretty unlucky if you dont have one..well, having a nickname is something not everyone boasts of... and this time i am trying to ponder why i never ever had a nick name throughout my schooling and engineering...that is.. the nickname i know of, and not what ppl who dint like me said behind my back :) lemme give you a small example, take a simple conversation.. A : hey dude, what are you doin for 31st nite ?? B : i guess i will have a blast with bigshow, goli, ragz,vp and itom well howz that compared to .. B : i guess i will have a blast with karthik, ramakrishna, raghavendra, pavan and swathi..!!?? the first answer sounded much better ain't it.? There is something special that the nickname brings to one's personality that the name doesn't..!(lotta crap) and after you get a nick name, you just give up ur real name and i know scores of people who just know the nick names and not the original names of ppl..! thats the kind of affect the it ...

Compliments... err.. i mean

Ladies and gentlemen.. my foray into blogging .. hmmm..its been a loooooong break.. im back to writing nonsense again.. just that im trying to rediscover my old self..was reading all the stuff that i had written earlier.. and realised im not that bad.. if people can pass off as excellent script and story writers with movies like 'kaal' and 'murder' then i too am a great writer...... :) am still searching for a topic while i am writing, someone suggest one wait.. lemme think... i think i'll write about the art of giving compliments .... wow, the word itslef sounds great.... especially if u hardly recieve them... it is that much more coveted. Just imagine someone coming up to you and saying.. "wow ur looking terrific today"it certainly makes you feel good but there are some people...... u give them compliments and they are like.. "hmm ya.. tell me something new..".. u'd rather not give them any compliments.Well the whole point im trying to prov...
